Master’s degree in a qualifying field or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields.

African Studies
Comparative Literature with demonstrated Swahili components.
For native speakers of Swahili, qualifying fields may be expanded to Linguistics or language education (e.g. ESOL).
